Crochet Purse with U-Shaped Handle

Crochet this easy purse using 7" U-shaped handles from The Crochet Dude® collection of crochet tools and accessories from Boye®.
Skill Level: Easy
Rnd = round; RS = right side; ch = chain; sl st = slip stitch; dc = double crochet; sc = single crochet; rep = repeat; sp = space
11" wide x 11" tall (without handles)
One motif = 3.5" across
Motif (make 18)
Rnd 1 (RS): With cream, ch 4, sl st to first ch to form ring, ch 3, 2 dc in ring, *ch 2, 3 dc in ring, rep from * twice more, ch 2, sl st to top of ch-3 to join. (12 dc, 4 ch-2 spaces)
Fasten off cream.
Rnd 2: With brown, attach with a sc in any ch-2 space, 2 more sc in same sp, sc in back loop of each dc around, working 3 sc in each-2 space, sl st to first sc to join.
Fasten off brown.
With brown, sc around each purse handle until it is completely covered. Fasten off brown.
Sides (make 2)
Lay motifs out in a 3 x 3 grid. With brown, whipstitch together working through back loops only.
Once both sides are assembled hold together with RS facing each other and whipstitch around 3 sides of purse through back loops only, leaving one side open for top.
Center handle along top edge and whipstitch into place with brown. Repeat with other handle.

- Super Bulky Weight Yarn in Brown and Cream – we used Lion Brand Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® yarn – Colors: Barley, Fisherman
- The Crochet Dude® hook size P (10mm) from Boye®
- The Crochet Dude® 7" U-shaped handle from Boye® 3472109001 – you will need 2 handles to complete this project
- The Crochet Dude® bent end yarn needle from Boye® 3471001001
