Twisted Stitch Knit Leg Warmers
Stay warm and in style with these fun knit leg warmers with a cool texture created with a special twisted stitch. Use tweed, ombre or variegated yarn to get the effect you see here.

Skill Level: Easy

Abbreviations:

    BO-bind off; CO-cast on; k-knit; k2tog- knit 2 sts together; p-purl; pm-place marker; rep-repeat; st(s)-stitch(es)

Size:

    Sizes S (M, L) Small size is listed first. Sizes medium and large are in parentheses. 11 (12, 13)" [28 (30.5, 33) cm] wide (not stretched) and 12 (12½, 13)" [30.5 (32, 33) cm] long

Materials Needed:

Gauge:

    14 sts & 18 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Twisted Stitch Pattern. To save time, take time to check gauge.

Special Stitches:

    RT (Right Twist)- K2tog and leave sts on left-hand needle. With right-hand needle, knit the first stitch again then slip both sts off left-hand needle.

Pattern Stitches:

    Ribbing (multiple of 4 + 2)
    Row 1 (RS): P2, *k2, p2, rep from * across.
    Row 2: K2, *p2, k2, rep from * across.
    Rep Rows 1-2 for pattern.

    Twisted Stitch (multiple of 4 + 2)
    Row 1 (RS): P2, *RT, p2, rep from * across.
    Row 2: Purl.
    Rep Rows 1-2 for pattern.

Directions (Make 2):

    Loosely CO 38 (42, 46) sts. Work in ribbing for a total of 10 rows, approximately 2" (5 cm).
    Change to Twisted Stitch pattern and work until piece measures 10 (10½, 11)", [25.5 (26.5, 28) cm] from beginning, or 2" (5 cm) less than desired length.
    Work in ribbing for 10 rows. Bind off loosely.

Finishing

    Fold with right sides together and sew seam. Weave in ends.
