Crochet Wire Necklace

Crochet outside the box and create this cool accessory with unusual materials – fine gauge wire holds the shape of the stitches, giving this necklace a delicate yet edgy look.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Ch = chain; sc = single crochet; sk = skip; rep = repeat; st(s) = stitch(es)
NOTE: all wire ends should be woven into the necklace – curl ends with needle-nose pliers to finish off.
With 22 gauge wire:
Rows 1-2: Ch 20, sc into 2nd ch from hook, *ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc into next ch, rep from * across, turn

Rows 3-4: Ch 1, sc in 1st st, ch 1, sk 1 st *sc in next st, ch 1, sk 1 st, rep from * across, turn

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in 1st st, *ch 6, sk 2 sts, sc in next st, rep from *, turn

At this point you can begin to form points out of your chain loops. This will make it easier to continue with the remaining rows.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in 1st st, *ch 8, sc in next sc, rep from * across, turn

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in 1st st, *ch 10, sc in next sc, rep from * across, turn
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in 1st st, *ch 12, sc in next loop, ch 10, sc in next sc, rep from * across
Finish off 22 gauge wire.
Form points with chain loops as desired; then with 20 gauge wire, thread beads and medallion as desired and weave in and out of chain loops, manipulating the shape as you go.
