Sparkle with Project Runway® Sequin Trims



Now is your time to shine – use hip sequin trim from the Project Runway® trim collection by Simplicity to add a touch of glamour to your look.
Sequin Scarf – easy as 1-2-3
You will need:
- 2 yards of Project Runway® 2" wide Sequin Band Trim 1866268
- Scissors
- Straight pins
- Matching thread
- Hand sewing needle
Instructions:
- Fold one end of trim ½", folding towards the WRONG side of the trim, forming hem. Fold again and pin in place.
- Hand-stitch hem in place.
- Repeat Steps 1 and 2 on other end of trim to finish scarf.
Embellished Tank Top – keep up with current trends by adding some sequin trim to an existing top
You will need:
- One tank top
- Measuring Tape
- 2 ½ yards of Project Runway® 1 1/8" wide Sequin Mesh Trim 1861273070
- Scissors
- Straight pins
- Matching thread
- Sewing Machine
Instructions:
- Lay your tank top flat on a clean surface and measure to find the center front of the shirt.
- Lay a row of sequin trim vertically down the center front, wrapping ends under at neckline and hem to finish. Pin in place.
- Machine stitch trim in place, stitching close to each edge of trim.
- Try on tank top to find empire waistline – this is just below your bust line, as shown in photo. Mark with pins and carefully remove top.
- Lay tank top flat. Place a row of sequin trim along marked empire waistline, from side seam to side seam. Turn under ends ½" at side seams to finish. Pin in place.
- Machine stitch trim in place, stitching close to each edge of trim.
Embellished Cardigan – add a little sparkle to an existing cardigan with sequin trim
You will need:
- One cardigan
- 3 yards of Project Runway® 1/8" wide Sequin Band Trim 1865370
- Scissors
- Straight pins
- Matching thread
- Sewing Machine
Instructions:
- Fold trim in half lengthwise to find the center.
- Place the center of the trim at the center back neck of your cardigan and place trim along one front edge, pinning as you go. Continue until you reach the hem of the cardigan; turn under end of trim ½" to finish. Pin in place.
- Machine stitch trim in place, stitching close to each edge.
- Repeat Steps 2 and 3 on opposite side of cardigan front, using remaining trim.
