How to Make a Child's Princess Bib Necklace
Read through all of the instructions before cutting and sewing.
Step 1. Using bib template, pin or trace bib shape onto felt. Cut out two bib shapes from felt.
Step 2. Using bib template, pin or trace bib shape onto interfacing. Cut out one bib shape from interfacing.
Construction and Trimming Instructions
Step 1.Sandwich the interfacing in between the two felt bib sections, having raw edges even. Fuse all layers together, following manufacturer’s directions.
Step 2.Center the appliqué onto bib, as shown in photo. Fuse appliqué in place, following manufacturer’s instructions, OR hand sew OR glue in place.
Step 3. Pin Beaded Square with Gem trim along lower edge of bib, having one edge of the trim even with the cut edge of the bib. If necessary, clip the upper edge of the trim between the squares so that trim curves and lies flat on the bib. If possible, start and end with a square in each corner. Hand-sew OR glue trim in place.
Step 4. Apply a row of Beaded Square with Gem trim along upper edge of bib, having one edge of the trim even with the cut edge of the bib. Clip upper edge as needed to follow bib shape. If you prefer, trim can overlap at corners. Hand-sew OR glue trim in place.
Step 5. Hand-sew OR glue one end of the rhinestone strand to back of bib at one corner. Place the bib on your child and adjust to desired length, being sure that the finished necklace can easily go over your child’s head. Mark the other end of the rhinestone trim with a pin.
Step 6. Cut off the excess rhinestone strand at marking pin and hand-sew OR glue other end to back of bib at opposite corner.
Step 7. Place the bib on your child and let your princess enjoy the new piece of jewelry!
