Single Seam Skirt
As seen in Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores® FASHIONfusion Fall/Winter 2012 Magazine. Use Elastic Band Fabric by Fabric Traditions® to whip up this easy skirt in three simple steps.
Materials Needed:
- Elastic Band Fabric – determine yardage needed based off of body measurement; see instructions Step 1.
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Straight pins
- Thread to match fabric
- Sewing machine
- Hand sewing needle
Instructions:
- Measure the waist all around; subtract 1" from this body measurement. This is the amount of fabric yardage you will need. When purchasing fabric, be sure to measure the elastic side of the fabric to purchase the correct yardage.
- With the WRONG sides of the fabric facing each other, match the cut edges of the fabric and pin together, forming a tube. Stitch together in a ½" seam.
- Hem the skirt to the length desired.
