This sewing video shows how to sew a double-pointed dart, also known as a contour dart or a fisheye dart. This style of dart can be used to create a design element, to eliminate excess fabric, or to add more shape and tailoring to a garment.
Tip #1: If you don’t have a curved ruler to help transfer markings, use a tracing wheel and paper.
Tip #2: To help the fabric lay flat or to ease tension on the dart, clip it at the center.
