Double Stitches

A double stitch is placed ¼ inch away from the seam line, inside the seam allowance. You can use a straight stitch or a zig-zag stitch. Once complete, use scissors to trim off the extra fabric close to the double stitch.

Tips to Remember
- You will commonly see a double stitch along the center seam in pants/jumpsuits. This helps to add support to the crotch curve seam.
- Stitch seam along seamline; stitch again ¼" (6mm) away inseam allowance using a straight stitch or zigzag stitch.
