A topstitch is a straight stitch that is done on the top of the garment. It’s like an edge stitch, but the top stitch is done ¼ inch away from the seam. For reference, denim garments typically have a topstitch and an edge stitch.

Tips to Remember
- Stitch 1/4"" away from edge of fabric.
- When topstitching, lengthening the stitch can help it appear more than the standard 2.5 stitch length.
