PRO TIP
Working with Bias-Cuts
- Cut fabric on single layer, not folded.
- When pressing, be sure not the drag and stretch the fabric. Lift and lower the iron.
- Stay-stitch necklines, armholes, and waistline immediately. This will keep them from stretching or growing while constructing the garment. Depending on the fabric, you can use a lightweight fusible interfacing or stay tape.
- The most important tip: allow garment to hang for 24-48 hours before hemming. This helps the fabric to relax and drop so you can trim your hemline even and then finish the hem.
